Events are exclusively for Dining Club cardholders - you can buy your card on the night, and it will be valid for two people for a whole year, getting you and a friend great discounts and admission to all Dining Club events for an entire year. All events require prebooking and are limited numbers.

Tuesday 28th February:
Cinnamon, Ryde

A special menu at one of Ryde's most popular Indian restaurants, drawn up in consultation with Matt and Cat. We've listened to Dining Club members who asked for a good value meal that isn't on a Thursday, and features plenty of vegetarian food. This one will tick all the boxes! Full menu details below.

Appetiser

Tiger prawn puri: tiger prawns pan-fried in olive oi, with a pinch of spice, sweet and sour. Served with puri bread.
Mussels: lightly-spiced green-lipped mussels cooked with garlic and fresh cream
Lamb chop: marinated in yoghurt, fresh coriander and mustard, cooked to perfection in the tandoori ovemn and served in a special unique sauce.
Choice of vegetable pakora or vegetable samosa: pakora, spiced shredded onion bound with gram flour and deep fried; samosa, home-made pastry filled with delicious vegetables and deep fried.

Main course

Mergh de gama: tender breast of chicken stuffed with spinach, mushroom and cheese, simmered in a yoghurt sauce
Jhinga Methi (hot - or choose your own heat): king prawns prepared with onions, tomatoes, green chillies and capsicum
Handi gosht (medium): tender lamb tikka, marinated overnight in freshly-ground spices. Prepapred in a delectable sauce with chopped garlic, ginger and Worcester sauce.
Paneersala: home-made cottage cheese with bell peppers, mixed vegetables, herbs and spice with spring onion

Side dish

Bhutta hara pyaaz: stir-fried baby corn, mushroom, spring onion and spices
Baingan mirchi ka salan: baby aubergines in a chilli peanut sauce, coconut and tamarind

Rice

Zaffrani pulao or vegetable zaffrani pulao

Dessert

Ras malai: an exotic Indian dessert

29th March:
An African Evening
Missy J Cafe, Ryde

The menu at Missy J is informed by the African roots of proprietors Janine and Thomas. It's simple and homely, but rich and satisfying food which often has a hint of the exotic to it. "We have tried to bring a little bit of South Africa with us to our Café", they told us. Normally only open at lunchtimes, Missy J will be offering the Dining Club a special menu for one evening only. More details are to follow.

April: Bluebells Cafe, Briddlesford Farm

Matt and Cat are keen supporters of local food producers, and where better to exemplify this than Briddlesford Farm. We shall have an opportunity to learn about this unusual and interesting venue, and of course to enjoy some food!
